When creating my world through sounds I was aiming to create an auditory representation of the sounds I associate with my childhood and growing up during a time of immense technological change while also being in a family which loved the outdoors. I found great inspiration in Bon Iver’s latest album which through his use of sample sounds creates a narrative. I wanted to create a nostalgic piece and have incorporated many sounds that I resonate strongly with growing up in the late 90’s/ early 2000’s. For me, the simple sounds of inanimate objects create a sense of familiarity and an image of ‘Where I’m From’.
